Quick & Easy Overnight Oats: 6 Delicious Flavors

Do you struggle to find time for breakfast on busy weekday mornings? Overnight oats are a simple way to meal prep a healthy and delicious breakfast. They are easy to grab and go. You can prepare a whole week’s worth of breakfasts in just a few minutes.

What are Overnight Oats?

Overnight oats are a no-cook way to make oatmeal. You soak raw oats in milk in the fridge. After a few hours, the oats soak up the liquid. This makes them soft and creamy. They are more creamy and dense than regular oatmeal.

The best part about overnight oats is that you can add any toppings you like. Try different fruits, berries, nuts, seeds, or nut butter. You can even add chocolate or coconut. With so many options, you will not get bored.

Today, I’ll show you six ways to make overnight oats. These are some tasty flavor combinations. There’s something for everyone.

Choosing the Right Container

For containers, 16-oz wide-mouth mason jars work great. This size gives you enough room for the oats and toppings. Plus, there’s plenty of room to stir without making a mess. The wide mouth makes it easy to scoop out the toppings and to clean the jar. You can find wide mouth mason jars at many stores or online at retailers like Amazon.

Base Oats Recipe

Before we get to the flavors, let’s make the base oats. This recipe only has five ingredients. It takes just a few minutes to prep. This base is used for all the overnight oats flavors.

Ingredients (1 serving):

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup milk (almond, cashew, or your favorite)
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a mason jar.
  2. Mix well.
  3. Put the lid on and store in the fridge.

They’re ready to eat in 2-3 hours. But, for the best results, keep them in the fridge overnight.

Meal Prepping Tip:

To meal prep for the week, make a big batch on Sunday.

Ingredients (4 servings):

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Combine all the ingredients in a big bowl or line up your jars. Divide the mixture evenly.

In the morning, the oats and chia seeds will be soft and creamy. They soak up all the milk. It becomes almost like pudding. If it’s too thick, add a splash of milk. Stir until it’s the thickness you want.

You can eat the base recipe as is. Or, add toppings to make it even better. Now, let’s look at six flavor ideas.
